Kaz McCue

Welcome New Artistic Director Kaz McCue

We are excited to announce long-time Art Park friend and contributing artist Kaz McCue has joined our organization as Artistic Director and Curator to guide the direction of our collection and carry forward the vision of our late founder, David Barr.

“His artistic vision for the future of the park is rooted in our mission and focuses on collaboration with artists, the community and our staff and board to involve more artists, educate the community, build our collection, and connect the art even more closely to Michigan history and the surrounding environment. His enthusiasm for the park and energy is inspiring to us and we believe will be beneficial for the future growth and sustainability of the park.”Executive Director, Renee Hintz

Kaz brings twenty-five years of experience working in the arts as a visual artist, educator, curator, and arts administrator. In addition to this role with the Art Park, he currently serves as Instructor of Visual Arts at the Leelanau School in Glen Arbor. He holds a BFA in photography from Parson’s School of Design and an MFA in mixed media from Long Island University/ C.W. Post Campus. He has received numerous grants and awards for his work and has exhibited around the world. As a curator, he has assembled over 200 exhibitions and over 100 lectures and artist presentations. Kaz has taught at the university level and has served in several arts administration positions.

We are lucky to have already had a long and positive relationship with Kaz. He was our first artist-in-residence, has brought many students on field trips over the years, and has even represented the Art Park at industry events. His sculpture A.M. is also part of our permanent collection.

Along with his extensive experience, Kaz brings enthusiasm, dedication, and belief in the power of the arts to his new role as Artistic Director.
