This program was an impactful enrichment activity for my students because it connected art, history, career opportunities and so much more. These important connections would not have been made without the Art Park.

Jonathan Timm performs at Summer Sounds

On a bright afternoon this July, Traverse City songwriter Jonathan Timm was setting up for his Summer Sounds concert at the Art Park, when he paused, pointed at the trail and asked, “Is that wheelchair accessible?” His brother wanted to come to the show, but wasn’t sure he would be able to make it to the amphitheater.

You can imagine how moving it was then, just as the music was starting that evening, to see his brother Chris coming up the ADA accessible trail. He wound around Discovery Grove all the way to the top of the tiered seating for a fantastic view of the concert. It was an absolute joy to see the look of great pride on his face as he watched his little brother perform songs of deep passion in such a beautiful and inspiring venue.

Before the end of the night, Chris had posted a five-star review on our Facebook page, “This is a truly beautiful place!”

You are a part of this story too. It’s because of your generosity that these moments happen at Michigan Legacy Art Park.

Field trip observes King Stanley

This summer, nearly 50 individuals with limited mobility were able to experience our entire park thanks to our ATV golf cart, which was purchased with donations from caring people like you. Over 1,300 kids visited the Art Park on field trips this year because donors like you provided transportation costs for underserved schools.
