PROFESSIONAL PHOTOGRAPHY GUIDELINES
Thank you for your interest in Michigan Legacy Art Park. To ensure a positive experience for all – you and our guests – please follow the rules outlined below.
Please complete the application form to photograph at Michigan Legacy Art Park in advance.
Your request must include the locations in the Art Park where you intend to photograph; photographing at the Amphitheater must be pre-approved with Michigan Legacy Art Park to avoid scheduling conflicts.
The Art Park is only available for photography during the hours of 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., unless approved in advance. Michigan Legacy Art Park reserves the right to refuse requests for photography in the Art Park.
Please have your emailed letter of approval to photograph with you when you arrive.
Upon arriving at Michigan Legacy Art Park, please check in with the cashier at the Park Entrance building, introduce yourself, present your emailed letter of approval to photograph, and pay the fee if it has not already paid. Photography fees are used to maintain the sculptures, facilities and trails.
We charge a nominal professional photographer fee of $200 for 2 hours and $100 for each additional hour for using our property, which includes setup and teardown time. Fees for students and others may be reduced or waived. Photography is free with events booked at the amphitheater, but the photography session must be scheduled in advance.
The Art Park is a family-friendly sculpture park. All activities must be consistent with this family-oriented, artistic environment. Inappropriate posing or behavior will not be tolerated.
Changing clothes at the Art Park is not permitted in the restroom facilities. Please include information regarding your plan for changing clothing, which may be approved.
For your safety and to protect the artwork, do not allow your clients to climb or sit on the sculptures.
You will be held financially responsible for any damage to artworks, the Amphitheater, or other Art Park structures resulting from your photoshoot. Costs for assessment and repair will be charged accordingly.
