George & Althea Petritz honored with Legacy Award
THOMPSONVILLE, MICH – Michigan Legacy Art Park presented Althea Petritz with the 2010 Legacy Award during the Legacy Gala on August 21 at Crystal Mountain Resort & Spa. Over the last sixty years George and Althea Petritz have made a phenomenal impact on the economy and culture of Benzie County not only as business owners but as engaged members of the community.
On behalf of herself and husband, George, Althea gracefully accepted the award in front of an audience of over 230 friends. All six of the Petritz children, their spouses and several grandchildren were also in attendance.

Crystal Mountain Resort & Spa and Michigan Legacy Art Park received the Governor’s Award for Innovative Tourism Collaboration in March 2009. Michigan Legacy Art Park is a 501(c)3 non-profit located on a 30-acre preserve leased by Crystal Mountain for $1 per year. Michigan Legacy Art Park features over 40 outdoor sculptures that celebrate Michigan’s culture and history along 1.6 miles of wooded hiking trails.
