Sister

My vision for this sculpture was that we as individuals can make a great impact on our surroundings. Sister stands alone and yet is influenced by the weather, the changing seasons and the people that experience the energy of this change. Although the three steel rods that are seen in the front of the sculpture represent my sisters and me. We are independent women that stand next to each other in support. We have shaped one another’s lives to make us the people we are today.

The sculpture in my mind is a female figure… strong, connected to her surroundings and yet quiet and zen-like, which allows the viewer an intimate experience of exchanging energy.
