Here is a preview of what’s coming:
The Bergamot: July 6
This husband-and-wife duo provided a memorable season finale performance in 2017, so early on in planning, we felt strongly about bringing them back to Summer Sounds this year. Their stage presence and superb songwriting combines with an accessible, earthy style that anyone who simply loves music will enjoy.

Led by songwriter Nina Ledesma’s powerhouse vocals, this up-and-coming band is gaining a lot of buzz in the Detroit music scene right now. The bluesy, soulful classic rock appeals to music fans across generations. We are very excited to have Nina and the band play at the Art Park for the first time.

Sally Rogers & Claudia Schmidt: July 20
Fifteen years ago, these two performed together at Summer Sounds, and people are still talking about it. For over fourty years, Sally and Claudia have been writing music, performing and teaching around the globe. Each has an incredibly impressive musical resume, including recording, scoring stage productions, writing folk operas, playing on A Prarie Home Companion, and passing on their world-weary wisdom and musical expertise to others.
Don’t miss this historic concert.
Sally Rogers & Claudia Schmidt TicketsJonathan Timm: July 27
Jonathan Timm is originally from northwest Michigan, but his life-long love for classic country music took him to Nashville in 2011, where he spent the next six years refining his sound and his songwriting. Though often heart-wrenching, his music comes with no shortage of energy. One can hear both his Michigan home and Nashville influences in his alt-country sound that combines elements of vintage country music with rock and indie, reminiscent of The Avett Brothers.
Catch a great new local artist at a beautiful venue!
