***This tour has been cancelled due to rain – stay tuned for a special spring hike with Aime and Kama***
Every Sunday in January, you can join us for a guided snowshoe tour of the Art Park. It is a wonderful, fun way to experience the park (not to mention a great way to “get moving” in the winter).
Sunday, January 31, is a special tour you won’t want to miss!
MLAP has partnered with with Benzie Conservation District to bring Aimé Merizon (from BCD) and Kama Ross, District Forester for Benzie, Leelanau and Grand Traverse Counties to lead that Sunday’s tour through the Art Park. Benzie Conservation District focuses on bringing information, education, and resources to community members and events in an effort to help preserve and enhance our natural resources. Kama will help identify winter trees, using the three “B’s”: bark, branching, and buds. We’ll also discuss woodland creatures through track identification and other signs that wildlife leave for us when we are not there. Kama has a wealth of information and appreciation for the outdoors, so bring your questions and curiosity!
Join us January 31 for this special Winter Tour.
Michigan Legacy Art Park winter snowshoe tours happen every Sunday afternoon in January, 2016. You can find all the details on the Winter Tours page, or check in on Facebook.
