The vast musical talents of Neptune Quartet + 1 will elevate the Summer Sounds concert stage at Michigan Legacy Art Park on Friday, July 22. Hosted by the Benzie County Chamber of Commerce and the Benzie County Visitors Bureau, the concert is the third performance in the Art Park’s 2011 Summer Sounds concert series. Concert tickets are $10 per adult, $8 per Art Park member, and free for kids 17 years and younger. The 7:00 PM concert takes place at Michigan Legacy Art Park’s open air amphitheatre, located on the grounds of Crystal Mountain Resort & Spa in Thompsonville, Michigan.
Formed in 2001, Neptune Quartet is a collaboration of cellist Crispin Campbell, mandolinist Don Julin, guitarist Angelo Meli and bassist Glenn Wolff. With a grandiose repertoire of musical stylings, the group plays original, instrumental compositions in addition to songs by the likes of Django Reinhardt, Frank Zappa, and Hank Williams. During their July 22 concert in the Art Park, the quartet will be joined by David Collini on drums. Learn more about this unique, musical collaboration on their website: neptunequartet.com.
Guests can purchase Neptune Quartet + 1 tickets in advance or at the Art Park on the night of the concert. Rides to the amphitheatre will begin at 6:15 p.m. for those unable to walk the trail. Some seating is provided but concert-goers are welcome to bring lawn chairs and blankets.
